Just what I needed... excitement in my life so I would have something to blog about. Well this I could have done without. I was finishing up my lunch and starting to get a roast ready for the crockpot for tonight's dinner when I opened the refrigerator door to get the roast out. I opened it like always but this time the entire door came off its hinges and crashed to the floor. It was too heavy for me to pick up since there was stuff in the door shelves. I emptied all of that then picked up the door to try to get it back on but discovered the plastic (why on earth do they make hinges out of plastic????) hinge that the hinge pin fits into was broken off. Lovely! I kept trying to get the door back on anyway, dropping it a few more times and banging up my shins along the way. There will be bruises for sure. I tried calling David at work but no answer... then I remembered he was having a meeting during lunch today so who knows when he'll get the message. He also has a work related dinner to attend right after work tonight so it will be late before he gets home. I have the door on, but just barely and it is not properly closed so I imagine I will loose everything inside because I don't think it will keep cool like it should. What a mess! Oh well, it did provide something for me to blog about today. I am ready to scream!
This is the hinge that broke, you can see that I am not able to get the hinge back around the pin and the hinge is now missing the entire front part that goes around the pin. The door is on and sort of propped up right now.
