While in Helen we stopped to eat at the International Café. We had picked up a brochure advertising the best reuben sandwich in town at the Wurst Haus Restaurant located on Main Street. We drove up and down Main St. several times trying to locate it but never could so we stopped at the Welcome Center to ask about it only to find out it burned down last year during Oktoberfest. WOW! No wonder we couldn’t find it! Anyway, the kind lady there recommended the International Café for a good reuben. It turned out to be a fantastic recommendation. We each ordered a reuben sandwich (yummy) and Shiner Bock beer. We found it interesting that Shiner Bock, brewed in Shiner, Texas, was listed as an imported beer and came with an imported price. That’s crazy! We have been to the Shiner brewery in Texas and taken the tour there. The meal was delicious as was the beer. You can see just how good that sandwich looks in the photo below. We were fortunate enough to get a table outside along the Chattahoochie River edge so we watched the tubers going by while we enjoyed our meal. It was great entertainment!
