Another quick stop along the way to Helen was to see a ceremonial Indian mound. For some reason I have always associated Indian mounds as burial mounds. Apparently this one was not for burial purposes. You can read the sign that is posted there which states it was a ceremonial mound. It was interesting, especially after reading that DeSoto stopped here. You may need to click on the photo of the sign in order to read what it says.
