Lake Tahoe

Monday morning we got up and headed for Lake Tahoe. We were greeted with magnificent scenery from the start of the trip and were not disappointed as the day went on. Hairpin curves, drop offs and overall beautiful mountains were all part of the trip. We made numerous stops for photos and taking in the scenery. The weather was perfect, not a could in the sky and a comfortable temperature. We were around 8600 feet altitude at our highest point. We stopped off for lunch at Harrah's casino in Nevada for lunch on the top floor (18th) and on our way out played the slot machines. We each spent only a couple of dollars (no big gamblers here) and I ended up more than doubling my money... spent $1 and won $2.25. Hey it works for me! I won and cashed out! All four of us won some so none of us left empty handed. Our drive continued and we saw more beautiful scenery. Hopefully when I return home I will have more time to blog about other things we did or saw. For now I am posting a few of the many pretty scenes. We are heading to Monterey today and will spend a couple of days in that area. I will blog and share more photos as time allows. For now you can enjoy these pretty photos.

I loved this gnarly looking tree

the water was so still and clear
