I have always loved photographing sunsets. I am not a morning person so taking pictures of sunrises are not always an option. This morning David was getting ready to leave for work and we were both treated to a sunrise begging to be photographed so I naturally grabbed my camera and snapped away. What an awesome start to our day! The sunrise was magnificent and I didn't consider my day would get any better. It did! I saw the biggest pileated woodpecker I have ever seen in my entire life. He must have been the granddaddy of all woodpeckers. WOW! I grabbed my camera again and snapped a few photos before he flew away. I am posting the best one here but you will probably still have to click on the photo to see him. Last night I saw several blue herron's but unfortunately didn't get any photos of them yet.
