The next few blogs will most likely be showcasing photos from Texas when we were living there. We tried to do a lot of traveling while living there and I thought you would enjoy seeing some of the photos and hearing some of the stories. I am starting with Big Bend National Park. What an awesome place! Big Bend consists of the Chihuahuan Desert, the Chosis Mountains and the Rio Grande River. We spent an entire week there, staying in the lodge and taking in all the sites we could fit in. Hope to return there some day.

This was the view from our room. It was always interesting to watch how the sun changed the look of the mountain during the course of the day.

Clay Henry, the beer drinking goat, is the mayor of Lajitas, Texas! Really!
One day we took a long hike to get to this site. It was worth all the climbing we had to do just to see this huge bolder caught and resting upon 2 others. What a magnificent sight! That's me standing underneath.

These last 2 photos were taken right outside our room at the lodge. We could also see this site from our room. One night when we were driving after it got dark and we came upon a group of about 5 or so javalina's. They are a wild "piglike" animal found in Big Bend. They were in the road right in front of us... what a scary sight that was. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of them.
