A year ago we camped at this campground. The lake was much fuller at that time. The first photo here is taken from one of the campsites we stayed. The lake covered all of the green grassy area you see here. The tree tops you can see sticking up out of the water were under water!
This is another site where we have camped in the past. The island with the trees shows how far the water level has gone down. Last year only the trees were showing and no land. If you look to the right you will see another island has emerged. And if you look closer you will see a link between the two islands. In a few days the two will be connected and will appear as one island.
We have had so many days of triple digit temps here and even the days that haven't reached 1oo or above have been close...98... 99 degrees. The water is evaporating and with no rain the lake continues to dry up. The draught continues.
