Provence

Provence is on of my favorite places in France. I have been there on several occasions and it is absolutely wonderful. The air is fragrant and the fields are colorful with blooms. One of my favorite scents is lavendar and oh my, I feel like I am in heaven when I am in Provence when lavendar is in bloom. As far as you can see the fields are purple. Sunflowers are also abundant and some fields are yellow as far as the eye can see. One year when I was there it was some small trees, either cherry or plum trees, I never could find out which but they were beautiful. I only saw these while on the train and didn’t get any photos but it was a beautiful site. I have this picture seared into my brain of a drive David and I took thru the town of Saint Remy de Provence. The road was tree-lined with tall trees with smooth bark. The trees made a tunnel over the road. It was magical. I must have been so in the moment that I forgot to take a photo. I could easily live in Saint Remy de Provence!

can't you just smell the scent of lavendar?
