Jamie and I are back in Austin after our cruise to the Mexican Riviera. We had a fun time in spite of motion sickness the first couple of days. Some of you I have emailed so parts of my blogs will be repeats but will have more details. I will be trying to post something each day now that I have internet access and will also post photos for you to enjoy.
Monday
We took the 4 hour drive from Austin to Galveston to board the cruise ship. We got all checked in and set off on the cruise. After the required life safety drill we were off to change our dinner time. There were 4 time slots offered and they had given us the 8:30 slot which was too late for us so had it changed to the 6:15 time. Jamie started feeling a little queasy as the night progressed but I was feeling fine. Jamie ended up buying some Bonine for her nausea but that didn’t seem to help either. We went to one show which was a not so funny comedian but afterward Jamie decided she needed to go to the infirmary because her nausea was getting worse. We had both bought seabands bracelets to wear to avoid getting motion sickness but they didn’t work for either of us. Instead of seeing the doctor she opted to pick up some free packets of pills they offered at the clinic… which turned out to be the same as the Bonine pills she had just purchased earlier. We went to bed around 9:00 and slept until 9:00 the next morning. Below is a photo of our ship.
