More Lake Tahoe Photos

I think I have run out of stories to tell you about my California trip but I still have a lot of beautiful photos so I think for the next few posts I will just share some of these photos with you. If I think of anything of interest to write I will but for now just sit back and enjoy the photos. The ones below are more photos I took while on the Lake Tahoe trip.

Goedesic House and Art Studio

My friend Lucy lives in a geodesic dome home. It is the first one I have been in and I found it really interesting. The rooms are not your typical square or rectangular shapes but rather they have all sorts of strange angles making it more interesting. The bedroom where I slept while there was triangular! Geodesic domes are supposed to be much sturdier structures and can withstand high winds such as tornadoes and hurricanes and are probably more energy efficient as well. I really liked it a lot. Lucy also has an art studio in a nearby town. We got to go there one day and see all the artwork. They hosted a concert there last night and I heard it was a great success.

Webs

I love photographing spider webs. If the sunlight hits them just right they can make beautiful photographs. While in Half Moon Bay we stopped off at a garden center (the one where we saw the wooly mammoth) and inside some of the large urns were spider webs. I used to see these types of webs when I was a child and we always referred to them as “crazy” spiders or “writing” spiders. The webs don’t look like the traditional type of spider web but in fact they do look like someone trying to write in cursive with their zigzag appearance. Below are a couple of pictures I took of two of the many webs I saw while there. All were this same type of web.

A Whimsical Ranch

On our drive back from Coloma and the gold we passed by this whimsical ranch. I first noticed a shoe on the fence post that caught my eye then I saw another and another. All along the roadside for about a mile or so each and every fence post had a shoe or boot on the top. We had to stop and take a few photos. Below are a few to share with you.
