Hannah Visits

We had the pleasure of having our granddaughter, Hannah, here for a visit with us for several days. We always enjoy her visits. I picked her up on Thursday after school. She was out of school on Friday for a teacher workday so we spent the day at the zoo. She had been to this zoo many times before so she took great pride in showing me where everything was. She enjoys coming to the campground. There are a few ducks here and they were joined by a couple of Canada Geese while Hannah was here. The ducks have been busy mating and I was hoping some of the ducklings would hatch while she was here but they didn't. We had a campfire everynight and told scary stories one night. We played Bingo and enjoyed the nice sunny days with warm temps in the upper 70's. We did our share of walking around the loops and taking Millenni on walks. On Saturday afternoon Hannah decided to try to climb a little tree on our campsite and ended up sliding down and scratching her belly pretty good. Last time she was camping with us she burned her face with the marshmallow roaster. I hope this is not a trend of her getting hurt everytime she visits us. We sure had a fun time with her and was sad to see her go. She wanted to stay with us but she had to go back for school. Hopefully we'll see her again soon. The campground has been really busy. Late last week it was full every day. There are a number of people who live here or stay for extended periods but the overnighters have packed in here. I think most all of them have been snowbirds who are on their way back up north after spending the winter in Florida. Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Michigan, Ohio, Rhode Island, Indiana, and others have pulled in only to leave the next morning. Just a few more weeks here and we'll be leaving. Can't wait to get back to Texas!

this was the largest bamboo I have ever seen! Hard to tell here but it was really tall and had big fat trunks. I had no idea it grew this large.

a pretty flower on a tree at the zoo, the tree was covered with these pink blooms.

RV name and other trivial stuff

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I've been plenty busy but there has not been anything I felt was noteworthy to blog about. We are wrapping up our stay here at this campground and will be heading to Texas in a few weeks. Hopefully I will have more to write about then. When we first bought our RV I wanted to give it a name but was at a loss as to what would be the perfect name. I decided upon "Luna" but something about it seemed incomplete. Just this week it came to me.... her name will be "Luna Lonestar" and I will try to come up with a nice logo of a cresent moon and star to go on our business card and such. I even set up a new email account for RVing using that name. lunalonestar@hotmail.com So now it is official, our RV has a name! In other news... the weather is improving and getting warmer here which in nice. A lot of the spring trees and flowers are in bloom making for pretty scenery but bringing on allergies for me, YUCK! The ducks in the pond here have been mating and the females have been laying eggs. I hope they will hatch before we leave. It would be nice to see the little ducklings. So that is about it for now. I'll post again when I have something more to talk about.
